Advertising market 'to experience more changes'

The advertising market has been subject to some "tremendous" changes over the past couple of years and more are on the way, one expert has noted.

Eva Berg-Winters, digital media specialist for PricewaterhouseCoopers, observed that mobile phone marketing is one area where substantial progress has been made recently.

She explained that this has "grown quite significantly", adding that "strong take-up of mobile devices such as the iPhone" helped push the market forwards.

"Online advertising is one of the parts that we will see return strong growth," Ms Berg-Winters added, noting that the economic downturn has had an impact on this aspect of marketing over the past year, although some aspects of the sector have "weathered the storm better than others".

She was commenting after Adam Smith of GroupM predicted that the UK's advertising market may be one of the first to return to growth following the recession, as it was one of the first to feel the impact of the downturn.ADNFCR-2176-ID-19530721-ADNFCR
