Analytics and social media tracking 'to be popular in 2010'

Internet marketing agencies will increasingly be using analytics to keep track of their campaigns during 2010.

This is according to Bigmouthmedia's digital marketing outlook for 2010, which has predicted that this will have a crucial role in the marketing strategies of firms over the next 12 months.

Services that can track performance across the entire digital spectrum are expected to be especially popular, while the internet marketing and search engine optimisation firm also predicted that the growth of social media and real-time search will be "unstoppable".

Andrew Girdwood, head of search at the company, explained that investment in social media tracking will also climb, as businesses will be wanting to "see what people are saying about them".

"While analytics will be able to show you what happened, it can't explain why it happened or what brand message was carried," he remarked, adding that it will also be unable to show whether the discussion about the firm was positive or negative.ADNFCR-2176-ID-19522262-ADNFCR
