Barclaycard ad set for online debut

13 Jan
Barclaycard is to launch the follow-up to its famed waterslide television advert online later this month.

The bank announced that the 60-second film, which has been put together by creative agency BBH, will be first shown on YouTube and the company's Facebook page on January 22nd.

It will get its television premier two days later during Dancing on Ice on ITV1.

Titled Rollercoaster, the ad was filmed in New York and aims to highlight how customers can make their life easier using the products and services the company provides.

It depicts a man using a rollercoaster to take a "smooth and liberating" journey to work and also highlights the firm's contactless payment technology, which was introduced in the UK in 2007.

Earlier this month, the company announced it is partnering with Orange to offer a joint contactless credit card.

"The success of our Waterslide advert was absolutely fantastic and we have built upon that with Rollercoaster," remarked head of advertising and content at Barclaycard Paul Troy.ADNFCR-2176-ID-19554226-ADNFCR
