Brands to sponsor cricket spectacle on YouTube

In news that may interest those looking for marketing jobs, Brylcreem and Lebara Mobile will sponsor a live sports showpiece on YouTube.

They will be the first brands to participate in such an event, reports Marketing Week - and will run promotions for 60 live Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches.

This Friday (March 12th), will be the first such IPL occasion where the products are advertised in this digital format.

News of the sponsorship deal for the cricket series ? which is hosted in locations such as Delhi and Mumbai ? may interest those seeking marketing jobs who are intrigued by how sporting events can boost a brand's exposure.

In particular, adverts for the two brands will appear before and during the site's live streaming of each sporting spectacle, with YouTube also hosting promotions elsewhere on its webpage.

Both Brylcreem and Lebara Mobile are sponsors of the IPL already, with the former having a commercial association with England cricket star Kevin Pietersen.
