British Gas requests £50m media review

British Gas has asked for a review of its £50 million media planning and buying account, in news that may interest anyone seeking creative jobs.

The organisation intends to approach a variety of agencies for the purposes of conducting a series of pitches for the commitment, Campaign reports.

Although the overview is in its early stages, a number of candidates for the account will be contacted in the next few weeks.

The current holder ? Carat ? has been invited to participate in the re-pitch process.

Previously, the agency was awarded a Media Award by the aforementioned publication for its work celebrating British Gas engineers' community work.

People looking for creative vacancies may already be aware that last year, the energy supplier hired Publicis Groupe's Starcom MediaVest Group to take charge of the media planning and buying account for its Business Services operations.

On that occasion, the agreement was made without the need for a pitch.
