Carat wins Deutsche Bank media contract

15 Jan
Creative network Carat has secured the global media and planning contract for Deutsche Bank.

The company won the business after pitching against incumbent MediaCom and another network, Campaign reports.

It is estimated to be worth £130 million and will involve Carat handling the bank's media operations in Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and the US.

Deutsche Bank began the review in September 2009 and the appointment means Mediacom has lost an account it had held since 2002.

The financial firm, which announced late last year that it is looking to increase its operations in the US and Asian equities and commodities markets, is headquartered in Frankfurt and has offices in many of the world's major financial centres.

Earlier this month, the news source reported that budget hotel chain Travelodge has handed its media planning and buying account to Carat, which is owned by Aegis.

It moved the account from Mediaedge:cia to the agency without holding a pitch.ADNFCR-2176-ID-19560472-ADNFCR
