Channel 4 selects digital publicity manager

Steve Berry has been appointed digital publicity manager at Channel 4.

He has returned to the broadcaster ago to take up the newly-created position after leaving four years and he will be responsible for overhauling the publicity and press offerings provided to journalists PR Week reports.

In addition, he will also work to increase the scope of the promotional campaigns Channel 4 runs across digital platforms.

Prior to leaving to become a freelancer, Mr Berry worked on a number of new media projects for the channel and oversaw the running of its Celebrity Big Brother website.

Commenting on his new role, he noted that it is a "really exciting time" to be returning, as "audiences are really starting to have fun with social media tools".

The news source also quoted him as saying that he aims to continue the use of digital media at the firm.

As part of a major review of its operations announced two years ago, Channel 4 is investing £50 million in its 4IP service, which aims to support public service content across digital media.ADNFCR-2176-ID-19510012-ADNFCR
