Dove launches marketing for male grooming range

A new TV advert is to be launched by Dove next month, as it begins to promote its new male grooming range.

Those in marketing jobs at Ogilvy have created the commercial, which challenges the stereotypes often presented in such campaigns.

Real men and their typical lives are highlighted by the TV spot, which debuted on US television during the Super Bowl on Sunday.

And brand manager of Dove Men+Care Paul Connell explained that the firm is aiming to take a "fresh approach" to men in a similar way to its efforts for women over recent years.

Dove is "taking a light-hearted approach and acknowledging the life events that help men become comfortable with who they are, without a cheesy grooming stereotype in sight", he commented.

Last week, Ogilvy opened a temporary branch in Brixton Market Village, with those in marketing jobs with the company offering their expertise for free over the course of three days.ADNFCR-2176-ID-19606850-ADNFCR
