FA set to make new PR appointment

The Football Association (FA) is reportedly set to name Julian Eccles as its group director of marketing and communications, in news that may interest those seeking PR jobs.

According to PRWeek, Mr Eccles - currently the director of communications at Ofcom ? will soon take up the new role at the FA.

It also means that the football organisation's present employee in the position, Adrian Bevington, will become Club England managing director following the World Cup in South Africa which ends in July.

Previously, Mr Eccles was director of communications and corporate affairs at BSkyB ? and has also had stints at British Interactive Broadcasting and as a consultant at Hill & Knowlton.

The new appointee has also been a special adviser to ex-culture secretary Chris Smith, who worked within the Department for Culture, Media and Sports.
