Google 'seeking creative agency for TV campaign'

Google has approached several creative agencies in the UK with the intention of organising a pitch for a new TV advertising promotion.

The advert will focus on its new mobile search facility and will be rolled out during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, according to Campaign.

It could be said that the news gives an indication of Google's increasing focus on TV marketing as well as its online strategy.

The agency that takes on Google will be briefed with creating a campaign which is in keeping with its search strategy currently implemented in the United States and Japan.

In addition, the publication suggests that although Google is not an official World Cup sponsor, it is keen to target African audiences when the 32-team tournament kicks off.
