High heels a "huge" trend this winter

04 Dec
High heels are a "huge" trend among women this winter, according to the editor of Stylist magazine.

Lisa Smosarski stated that pencil-thin heels and stacked soles are popular this season, with many companies experimenting with "style and structure" in order to create "unusual shapes and details".

She observed that although flat shoes have seen a "resurgence" both this year and during the decade as a whole, it is unlikely that these will ever become as popular as the heel, which will always be a staple part of a woman's wardrobe due to the fact that they are "reminiscent of glamour and sophistication".

Ms Smosarski was commenting after research from Debenhams revealed that 89 per cent of 1,000 women questioned said they would never stop wearing heels.

Of the respondents, 32 per cent said that the footwear makes them feel more glamorous, while 28 per cent stated that they believe the shoes make them more attractive to men.ADNFCR-2176-ID-19495223-ADNFCR
