08 Mar
Those on the lookout for marketing jobs might be interested in news of a new appointment by Unilever.

The organisation - which had a total of 163,000 employees at the end of 2009 - has made Keith Weed its chief marketing and communications officer in place of Simon Clift, who is set to retire in Brazil.

Mr Weed - who will take up the role on April 1st - was previously the executive vice-president of homecare, oral care and water.

In addition, the marketing job will now include responsibilities for communications, unlike during Mr Clift's tenure.

Paul Polman, chief executive of the organisation, explained that Mr Weed "will be leading marketing, including the development of the Unilever brand".

He also described the appointment as "a key step to having a sharper consumer focus in the company".

The new chief marketing and communications officer will also become a member of the Unilever Executive and will report to Mr Polman.ADNFCR-2176-ID-19656233-ADNFCR
