Marks & Spencer voted most trusted store

20 May
Marks & Spencer is the UK's most trusted high street store, a new survey has revealed.

Research conducted by YouGov and commissioned by Baber Smith revealed that one in five shoppers (22 per cent) believe the retailer to the most reliable in the UK, something that may interest those seeking fashion and retail jobs.

The study also found that a further 22 per cent would choose the firm as the one they would least like to see disappear from the high street.

And the store is also popular with younger consumers, the research showed, with 17 per cent of those aged between 18 and 24 stating that they would not like to see the firm close down.

Managing director of Baber Smith Sam Jordan explained that retailers are having to fight "harder than ever" to maintain consumer trust in the recession.

"Marks & Spencer is leading the way with a strong focus on offering high quality products at good value [and] upholding its good reputation."

The retailer today began selling selected items for 1p as part of a promotion marking its 125th birthday.ADNFCR-2176-ID-19179154-ADNFCR
