Marmite to stage election promotion

Those interested in innovative campaigns and marketing jobs may be intrigued by a new promotion from Marmite in the run-up to this year's general election.

The brand is introducing two new political parties and is staging its own vote as part of an advertising and social media strategy.

People can pick to select the Love Party or the Hate Party as their preferred choice, both of which will aim to get the public to cast their votes via a specially conceived web page.

The former will attempt to highlight the nutritional benefits of the product - and will also consider new methods of using Marmite to tackle social issues.

By contrast, the Hate Party will aim to prevent the product's consumption as part of the campaign.

The campaign could represent the sort of innovative promotional approach that will intrigue those seeking marketing jobs.
