Maxus picks up BT media planning brief

Maxus, the communication consultancy owned by WPP, has been chosen to handle BT's £75 million media planning and buying contract.

The marketing jobs provider will begin overseeing the media brief from April 1st, after the telecoms giant moved the contract away from Starcom.

Starcom, which is owned by Publicis Groupe, secured the business in 2008 following a competitive pitch against Mediaedge:cia, also owned by WPP.

Marketing director for BT Matthew Dearden said that the company is "delighted" to be working with Maxus, which will be responsible for all media planning and buying, excluding outdoor advertising.

"This appointment will help us make the most of our media investment to build positive relationships with current and potential customers," he remarked.

BT will become Maxus's biggest client when the contract begins in a few months.

The agency also produces work for Dodge, the Financial Times, Mercedes-Benz and Fiat, among others.ADNFCR-2176-ID-19621322-ADNFCR
