MEC picks up Campaign award

Creative agency Mediaedge:cia (MEC) has picked up Campaign's Media Agency of the Year award for 2009.

The firm secured the title for the second year in a row following a 12-month period that saw it pick up accounts from Lloyds Banking Group, Nutricia and Activision Blizzard.

Its leadership team received praise from Campaign's judges, which said managers assisted with the personal development of staff and noted that the company introduced a flexible working scheme over the summer.

Chief executive of MEC Tom George described the accolade as "testament to the hard work put in at every level at the agency and to the culture we've developed here".

He added that it completes an "amazing clean sweep" of awards for the business, which in the past 18 months secured Agency of the Year from both Media Week and Marketing, as well as a title for a marketing campaign it ran for Morrisons.
