Mental Health Awareness Week

13 May
Posted by: Jen Kinnear

2020-2021 was the year that the world changed.  We had to adapt to the ‘new normal’ that meant working from home, not being able to see your friends and family and not being able to go out.  This has had mental implications for all of us, and some that we might not even know the full extent of yet.  This is why we wanted to highlight Mental Health Awareness Week, taking place this week, from 10th to 16th May 2021.

For us here at Profiles Creative, we are putting mental health at the forefront of work life and providing tools and support to not only our own team but our freelance family too.

We know how hard this last year has been, so we want to be able take care of the team and those around us.  We are proud to say that we now have Amy, a fully trained mental health first aider on the team.

We know there can be times for all of us where things get a bit too much, it could be work, family or finance and we feel it’s so important we get the right support.  Whether that be talking to someone, getting the expert tools needed to help, or just taking a break in the day and going for a walk in nature.

In an online poll undertaken by YouGov, which was the largest known study of stress levels in the UK.  It unveiled that In the past year, 74% of people have felt so stressed they have felt overwhelmed or unable to cope.

We don’t want our friends and colleagues to suffer in silence, it’s important we try to stop the stigma and get talking about mental health, providing the support where needed.   Below you will find a number of websites that can provide advice and support if you ever feel yourself getting overwhelmed, and of course for our Profiles Creative family, Amy is always at hand :)
