Mobile formats 'increasingly important for digital campaigns'

Niall O'Malley, group account director at Immediate Future, suggested social media is becoming a fundamental aspect of adverting strategies among businesses.

He said that one of the main principles behind a modern marketing campaign is that "if it's devised for the internet it will be replicated onto the mobile handset".

Mr O'Malley went on to observe: "Research shows that visual is an effective way to get people a message."

In addition, he claimed social media will be a cornerstone for all his company's promotions over the next decade.
