Molson Coors makes marketing job appointment

Molson Coors has added to its marketing capabilities with the appointment of Chris McDonough.

Mr McDonough, who has experience of working with a number of European companies, has been selected for the position of marketing director at the brewer.

He will take up his new marketing job in June, when he leaves his current post of marketing and research and development director at Muller UK.

Chief executive of Coors Mark Hunter said that the firm spent a long time deciding on a suitable candidate.

"Filling one of the highest profile marketing roles in the UK was never going to be easy, but after an extensive international search, we knew we had found the right person," he was quoted as saying.

In his new job, Mr McDonough will be responsible for overseeing the marketing of a number of Coors brands, such as Grolsch, Coors Light, Sol and Carlsberg.

He will also oversee operations at Cobra Beer, which last year was allocated a £10 million marketing budget by Coors in order to boost its association with ethnic foods.ADNFCR-2176-ID-19594112-ADNFCR
