Nestle starts PR agency search

04 Feb
Nestle has begun searching for a new agency to run an online campaign combating negative criticism it is receiving on the internet.

The food producer is looking for a PR jobs provider to monitor comments about the firm that are made on the web and help restore its reputation, PR Week reports.

Consumers have been voicing their disapproval of some of the firm's products and its approach to digital marketing, with a decision to invite 20 so-called 'mummy bloggers' to meet its chief executive last October resulting in a backlash on Twitter.

The news source quoted an unnamed individual involved with the search as saying that Nestle is looking for an agency that can "help it chart a path through social media", while another noted that the business is "concerned about the legacy of its past".

Elsewhere in the PR sector, it recently emerged that videogame giant EA is launching a review of its operations in the UK, inviting five agencies to pitch for its account.ADNFCR-2176-ID-19596719-ADNFCR
