Nineties trends 'are back in fashion'

20 Oct
The fashion trends of the 1990s are starting to become popular again,
according to one expert.

Deputy fashion editor at She magazine Pamela Harris said that a number
of styles from the decade are in the process of making a comeback,
including grunge, sportswear, cycling shorts, bum bags and kitten heels.

However, she explained that they are not reappearing in their original
forms and have been revamped for the new century.

"This time around the sporty and grunge trends have been updated to look
sexy and sophisticated," Ms Harris remarked, adding the bum bags have
also been given "a very cool makeover" as illustrated by one of Louis
Vuitton's latest efforts, which sees the waist carrier belt made from
embossed leather.

Her comments were made following the publication of the Vogue
Spring/Summer 2010 trend report, which noted that cycling shorts have
appeared on the Emporio Armani, Topshop Unique and Prada catwalks
recently, while sport mesh was seen in designs by Alexander Wang and
