Office fashion 'in demand' with women

15 Jan
The range of officewear available for women has increased as females become more successful in business.

This is according to fashion director for Company magazine Oonagh Brennan, who stated there is now more demand for women to "dress a certain way".

She explained that the high street is ideal for finding items to wear in the office, noting that "there are so many places now catering for all different kinds of work wear".

"It's not just boring, bog standard, school uniform type of stuff," the expert remarked, adding that shops such as Reiss offer collections that have their own individual style.

The current trend among women in the workplace is "sharp power dressing", Ms Brennan observed.

This look is set to continue into the spring and summer, along with the "sporty boyish look" being promoted by designers such as Stella McCartney.

She was commenting after research from Mintel showed that one in ten women have tried to gain an advantage at work by buying smarter clothes in the past year.ADNFCR-2176-ID-19559286-ADNFCR
