OMD secures Carlsberg media account

08 Jan
OMD has been appointed to oversee Carlsberg's worldwide media planning and buying account.

The creative agency, which is owned by Omnicom, currently oversees this aspect of the brewer's operations in Europe, but will now be responsible for over 20 markets globally, including Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Carlsberg said in a statement that the move is part of a review of the media supplier arrangements it has around the world.

"We are now pleased to announce that the Carlsberg Group has decided to consolidate its global media agency business into OMD with immediate effect," the company was quoted by Campaign as saying.

Khalil Younes, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Carlsberg, led the pitching process for the £100 million account, which began in October.

OMD has over 8,000 employees and operates in more than 97 markets, describing itself as one of the world's largest media investors. ADNFCR-2176-ID-19546602-ADNFCR
