According to new research Contactless Technology has largely underwhelmed the general public, as announced by Marketing Week.
According to the report, only 5% of Brits have a contactless card, while 14% say they have been issued a card but are yet to make use of it. Among those who have utilized the technology, with almost a third of user saying they neither agreed or disagreed that it is more convenient, and nearly 10% saying it was less convenient than traditional card payments.
One of the core issues that have hindered the public acceptance of the technology appears to be a lack of take up by retailers, coupled with anxiety over security issues.
