Social media can help digital marketing efforts

Those seeking marketing jobs might want to harness their abilities in various social media formats.

This is because Daniel Chubb, chief executive officer at Dansway Communications and Online Social Media, has outlined the scale of the audience for such sites.

He observed that social networking sites are increasingly being seen as an essential utility, adding: "Users right now use Facebook and Twitter more times a day than they do the telephone."

Mr Chubb went on to add: "The younger generation certainly cannot live without social media."

Anyone looking for digital marketing vacancies might agree with the correspondent's assertion that Facebook is still the dominant social media format, although niche sites are increasing in popularity.

Recent research from InSites Consulting highlights the extent of the global online audience.
