TBWA\Manchester heads Co-op marketing account

The Co-operative Group has selected TBWA\Manchester as its lead marketing agency after conducting a review of its roster.

A total of 14 firms have been chosen by the Co-op to provide various advertising services, with the majority being located in the north-west, where the business is based.

According to Campaign, the retail group's creative account is worth £53 million and TBWA\Manchester will be responsible for all operations apart from the Co-op's financial services business.

In essence, it ensures all creative ideas come from the same house, a spokesman for the Co-op was quoted as saying.

Refinery, Delino and Dinosaur are among the other agencies that have been appointed to the roster.

The move comes after the Co-op launched a new advertising campaign earlier this month, highlighting the addition of Somerfield to the group.
