Tetley's to use Huntsman for new campaign

The Tetley's ale brand is to use its iconic Huntsman figure as part of a new advertising campaign.

Marketing Week reports that Billington Cartmell is handling the promotion, which will include radio, outdoor, point-of-sale and experimental marketing strategies as part of a £3 million investment.

It will encourage consumers to text a given number to locate the nearest pub where a Tetley's party will be staged, as explained by the Huntsman in the promotion.

The strategy will see participants receive the chance to sample a free pint, with the Huntsman visiting establishments and buying guests drinks as part of what the publication calls a pub theatre promotion.

Paul Davies, director of brands at Carlsberg UK - which owns Tetley's - suggested the figure is a unique part of the company's offering.

He is quoted by the news provider as saying: "The Huntsman is at the very heart of what Tetley's cask ale is all about. He signifies quality and heritage."
