Universal McCann picks up Bwin UK account

Universal McCann has been selected to handle the UK media buying and planning account for online gaming company Bwin.

The creative jobs provider secured the contract following a pitch and will help the firm continue its brand promotion in the UK, Campaign reports.

Bwin recently launched its sports, poker and casino betting site in the UK and head of northern Europe for the business Nic Wenn said that Universal McCann's London office "showed a genuine passion for the challenge and an in-depth understanding of our consumer target".

According to the news source, Bwin will spend around £4 million promoting its brand through radio, print and online marketing, with campaigns beginning late in the first quarter.

Bwin, which already has an established presence in other European markets, announced yesterday (February 18th) that its sponsorship deal with Italian football team AC Milan will conclude at the end of next season.
