Vauxhall to launch new ad campaign

Vauxhall is aiming to attract customers back to its brand through a new TV advertising campaign, which will begin on Boxing Day.

According to Marketing Week, the manufacturer is promoting the new Astra models through multimedia efforts designed by creative agency McCann Erickson Frankfurt.

Parent company General Motors recently cancelled plans to sell Vauxhall and this is the first campaign since the decision was made.

Peter Hope, integrated communications manager at Vauxhall, explained that the car industry is currently going through a difficult time and the ads are intended to attract people back to the forecourts.

"The aim of this campaign is to show the dynamism and energy of the new Astra and it uses a cinematic theme to showcase the hi-tech features the new model offers consumers," he was quoted as saying.

Fellow vehicle manufacturer BMW recently called a review of its marketing accounts and invited creative agencies to submit pitches.
