Westgate secures Norfolkline PR account

30 Nov
Westgate Communications has been appointed to oversee PR activity for ferry operator Norfolkline.

The agency will begin working with the firm next year and will manage its business-to-business and consumer PR for its operations in the English Channel, PR Week reports.

Helen Westgate, its founder, will head up the account, which it first pitched for at the start of 2009.

The company lost out to the Red Consultancy, but Norfolkline has moved the account without the need for a repitch after nine months.

"We are confident that Westgate is the right sort of proactive PR agency to help us communicate the Norfolkline successes on the Channel," general manager of passenger services at Norfolkline Chris Newey was quoted as saying, adding that Westgate's recent work for Visit Kent was appealing to the ferry operator.

A press office and proactive campaigns will both be managed by the PR agency, which will be focusing on increasing repeat business and the number of car passengers.

Westgate, which is based in Kent, also handles graphic design and has produced work for Ogier and EcoSecurities.ADNFCR-2176-ID-19484868-ADNFCR
