ZenithOptimedia secures Aviva account

ZenithOptimedia has been selected to oversee Aviva's global media buying, planning and digital operations after the insurer conducted a review of its marketing arrangements.

The creative agency has been tasked with improving the efficiency of Aviva's investment in various markets in order to generate cost savings, as well as giving customers of the world's fifth largest insurance company a more consistent message.

Chief marketing officer at Aviva Amanda Mackenzie said that ZenithOptimedia had been chosen because of its "first-rate media buying capabilities and international reach".

In addition, she said the agency has good knowledge of Aviva's brand promise, adding: "We're looking forward to building a global partnership with them".

Ms Mackenzie noted that the move was in response to the company creating a single global brand, which saw the removal of the Norwich Union name from its operations in the UK.
