Freelance - Content & Copy Editor

Job description The Content and Copy Editor will work to develop, set and maintain the editorial voice of the brand across all facets and channels.

This role calls for an editorially savvy candidate with a flair for storytelling, a keen eye for detail and a strong digital background.
In addition, the person in this role needs to be incredibly organised and able to project manage effectively.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain the brand tone of voice across all customer facing channels.
Develop monthly content themes and take ownership of the editorial calendar, taking a multichannel approach to storytelling and adapting content for a variety of platforms and target audiences.
Deputise for the Senior Editor in their absence, developing an engaging content strategy with a focus on both enhancing the customer experience and elevating the brand.
Seamlessly integrate commercial messages into compelling content stories that will live across all platforms homepage, emails, site creative, categories and social.
Implement learnings from weekly and monthly analytics reports, working to evolve strategy and maintain leading quality of assets and content.
Create market specific content for International sites US, Australia and Germany where applicable.
Edit all brand content to ensure everything adheres to one true Tone of Voice .
Work in collaboration with the Senior Creative, ensuring content requirements are met across editorial shoots and film.
Work closely with the Social and Editorial Assistant, subediting all product descriptions and social media captions, to ensure they are in keeping with brand tone.
Work with the Trading team to ensure all necessary messages are being disseminated in a considered way.
Work with the Production team in the curation of trend-focused product edits, owning visual merchandising and asset creation.
Work alongside the Marketing team in refining ideas for seasonal campaigns.

Brand Communications Director
Submitting the editorial and product calendar for sign off, ensuring brand needs are met across all content outputs.

Senior Creative
Working together on content across all channels to ensure message and visuals are in sync.

Head of Digital
Taking the lead from the Trade requirements in email, homepage and commercial messaging.

Brand Stylist
Working together to ensure fashion messaging is carried out on shoots.

Senior Marketing Manager
Working together on seasonal campaigns.

Social and Editorial Assistant
Editing and developing site product descriptions and tone of voice across all social channels.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

3+ Years in related role. Retail brand experience is helpful.
Educated to degree level in English, Journalism, Fashion or similar.
Demonstrate a passion for and understanding of the Warehouse brand, customer, and product.
Excellent written English with extensive experience in copywriting, subediting an advantage must have a real flair for story-telling and projecting key messages in an unconventional way.
Ability to work quickly and on many projects at once, changing priorities if necessary
Must be able to establish excellent working relationships and communication with individuals and teams at various levels and from various fields of expertise.
Ability to identify trends, having a finger on the pulse of relevant lifestyle trends, fashion and culture.
Creative decision maker able to problem-solve and create compelling short and long-term solutions.
