Job description Head of Category- Beauty Brand

My client is a leading British beauty brand who are on the look out for a Head of Category to join the team. They have a warm and friendly working environment, and are going through a massive period of growth.

The main purpose of the role is: To contribute to the category growth by driving & delivering strategy through NPD, events and the entire activation plan development. They are also looking for someone to Lead, coach and develop the team to influence successful category performance.

The Head of Category will be responsible for:

*Co-Defining the strategy by identifying drivers for growth, potential for new consumers acquisition for all markets
*Present and get approval on the strategy and NPDs proposal from senior management
*Drive gap analysis by identifying new products needs and retail opportunities
*Manage the portfolio
*Activate NPD launches strategy, both online and offline, working with the Activation, VM, Integrated Communication, Retail Academy and commercial teams

NPDs & Activation Plan
*Generate innovative NPDs ideas and encourage innovative thinking in the wider team
*Guarantee NPD profitability by taking into account pricing, costs (products & activation), and discount/ commercial strategy in product definition and development working with operations & commercial teams
*Ensure NPD operational excellence in regards to timing and in collaboration with operations
*Ensure NPD commercial viability and relevance in collaboration with the wider commercial team
*Deliver thought-through event in collaboration with the Event team
*Brief and follow through the launch assets
*Contribute to Pricing & Discount decisions

Desirable Experience:

*Experience in similar Senior Marketing Development positions within a large, international retailer/FMCG (B&T preferred)
*Strong expertise in NPD and launches to markets
*Experience in collating and analysing information across various forms of data
*Experience of working in a commercial environment
*International experience and exposure to varied client base
*Experience in setting and implementing a marketing strategy
