Lead Copywriter

  • Salary: £30000 - £40000
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Location: Ascot, Berkshire
  • Industry: Agency
Job description We are looking for an experienced midweight copywriter to join a very successful full service agency in Ascot.
Unusually for an agency of their size they have no in-house copywriters, preferring instead to bring in freelancers with specific sector experience but they feel the time is now right to bring that expertise into the agency.
As a result they are looking for a broad set of skills with the ability to write long copy, a social post, or work with a team to craft a punchy headline on clients in telecoms, property, travel, sport, or food and drink.
You'll need to get to know the clients, research their history and heritage and what makes them unique and sometimes challenging and then translate that research into a tone of voice that can be adapted worldwide across all media.
Most of the client work is social and digital but there is also a strong retail connection. and you should feel comfortable working across all three.
Internally as the lead copywriter this is an opportunity for someone to own the tonal direction for the entire agency both in the way they express themselves and the way the work does.

You will have to be a good listener, confident in putting forward thoughts and steering conversations. You will need to gain their trust of the creative and client services teams as well as the board, listen to their ideas and get them to transfer ownership of the copy space to you by providing solutions that demonstrate better methods of achieving the right results, quality and clarity of thought.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic copywriter to make a really big splash at a very well respected agency.

Profiles Creative is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
