Senior Ecommerce Manager - Travel

Job description My client is an award-winning travel provider who offer high quality products to a wide range of leisure travellers and tailor-made adventurers. Due to growth to they have a newly created opportunity within their vibrant Surrey office for an experienced and results driven Head of Ecommerce with a proven track record of strategic and technical expertise.

The Role:
This is a pivotal and highly visible role covering strategic planning and implementation of Ecommerce activities to deliver increased traffic, conversion & profitable growth. Leading an Ecommerce team that works closely with the Sales, Marketing, Campaigns & Technology teams to develop both B2C & B2B platforms and promote a digital approach across all areas of the business.

Programmatic's and performance marketing is currently managed by specialist agencies however, effective project management
skills, a hands-on approach and strong over-arching knowledge of these areas is essential.

*Developing and executing the ecommerce strategy - encompassing online acquisition, conversion & retention plans (SEM, SEO, PPC)
*Develop class-leading user experience on the website(s) - across all devices, taking specific note of the emerging trends in mobile, tablet and other new tech
*Appointment, review & hands-on management of specialist agencies (programmatic etc.)
*Maximise email acquisition database growth, social media reach, community engagement; utilising existing & new tools including internal & external expertise
*Management of video content creation & strategy

Skills & Experience
*Extensive ecommerce experience within a fast-paced retail, commercial or travel environment
*Educated to degree level (or equiv).
*Strong knowledge of digital marketing channels (SEO, SEM, PPC, Affiliate Marketing, Display Advertising, Email Marketing, Content Marketing, Social Media Marketing, etc.)
*Expert knowledge of Google Analytics from a day-to-day usage and implementation/customisation perspective
*Experience in managing ecommerce projects
*Significant exposure to web technologies, XML & web services
*Excellent written and oral communication skills
*Experience or an understanding of working within software development life cycles (SDLC)
*Exposure of working within project management environments (e.g. PRINCE2, AGILE or SCRUM)
