02FOUNDED WITH PURPOSE
In the back of a small cottage in Twickenham, Profiles Creative was born and had one mission in mind - creative recruitment dominance.
03PROFILES CREATIVE GROWS
Initially conceived as a pure creative recruitment specialist, we soon expanded to incorporate marketing talent acquisition as part of our staple offer.
In fact, we were the first recruiter in the country to offer these two complementary services, and in 2004 we went one step further adding PR & Comms to our repertoire. By then we were covering all brand communication requirements.
04THE BIG MOVE
With a staff headcount of 25, we were quickly outgrowing our Old Street office, so we made a much-needed move to Farringdon, which is now home to more than 35 of us. The combination of a larger, more “Profiles” space, coupled with the creative melting pot that is Farringdon took the brand into a new and exciting phase of growth
05OUR FASHION & RETAIL DIVISION WAS BORN
A £50 thank you voucher from a fashion client was all the encouragement we needed to open an entire Fashion & Retail division. Today, we're pleased to have most of the big high street brands as clients, and not just in fashion but across the whole retail spectrum.
06SAY HELLO TO OUR FREELANCE DIVISION
Our freelance division was breaking so many records we set up a specialist team dedicated to recruiting for temporary roles, to ensure our clients received a bespoke, faster service. We must have done something right as today it accounts for 50% of our business.
07A NEW DAWN
With the dark days of the recession behind us, we launched our specialist Ecommerce team hiring the best and brightest in this rapidly innovating industry. And we’ve been thriving in this sector ever since!
08GLOBAL EXPANSION THROUGH INTERNAL ADVOCACY
Profiles Creative is nothing without our people. With steady growth assured through incredible hard work, 2014 was the year we started training academies to develop our in-house team. We also built our very own dedicated marketing team…plus we brought our most important team member on board - our first office dog, Harvey!
09NEW YEAR, NEW LOOK
Profiles Creative went through the most drastic spring clean in years, remodelling our office, refreshing our brand and logo, and relaunching our website - the sort of brand and asset facelift that takes a company to the next stage.
The clearest indicator Profiles Creative was on the right path was the year we won ‘Best Freelance Team’ at the Marketing & Digital Recruitment Awards. This enormous accolade not only filled the team with a desire to continue the amazing work they’ve been doing, but it also capped a steady decade of growth.
11THE INDUSTRY RECOGNITION KEEPS ON COMING
The awards kept rolling in - we not only won ‘Best Recruitment Agency To Work For’ at the Creativepool Awards but our MD Jen Kinnear was a judge at the Women in Marketing Awards (WiM) 2019. We saw those wins as recognition of both our elite service level and our leadership standing.
The introduction of the much-criticised off-payroll working regulations threw our industry into a spiral, but we pivoted rapidly into a market leadership role. We hosted an ‘IR35 - Explained’ event, and rigorously trained our consultants on IR35 rulings. We are now leaned on as guiding figures to both freelancers and clients on the specifics of IR35 legislation.
Like every company in every creative industry, COVID was the great unknown. Through sheer determination and resilience, not to mention the immense work of our departments and people, Profiles Creative emerged from the pandemic stronger than ever.
13WELCOME TO OUR INTERNS
2021 was the year we joined the fantastic programme 10,000 Black Interns, a scheme to help transform the horizons and prospects of young black people in the UK, offering paid work experience as well as full training and development.
At Profiles Creative we understood the underrepresentation of black talent in a large number of creative sectors, so we wanted to help drive change and attract a more diverse range of talent for our clients and our industry.
14BUILDING ON OUR SUCCESS AND LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
2022 has already proved to be a hugely successful and busy year for Profiles Creative. We’ve had several new additions to the team, and we welcomed our first interns from the 10,000 Black Interns initiative. Our company grows, our service improves, and the future looks bright!
